This maxillary 1st molar extraction (see x-ray) from a few weeks ago with a 35 y.o. woman was tough but it was simply “by the numbers”.
The student I was working with and I took it apart piece-by-piece without removing any buccal bone or a sinus problem.
See a video about this tooth being extracted at:
In school, we usually learn the extraction process only for simple situations. When there are flared roots, dense bone, roots overlapping the sinus radiographically, or crown ready to break off… then the techniques become proprietary.
We did this extraction with conventional instruments in a short time as taught in Continuum 1 with models (in July in Houston or on Zoom – with Dr. Drollinger).
After Continuum 1 or after a documented 25 surgical extractions, clinicians are eligible for the 3-day patient treatment course as taught last week (see earlier post). Pictures and testimonials available.
