David Roberts, DDS, PA

 

David Roberts, DDS, PA earned his dental degree in 1985 from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. Following dental school, he completed a two-year GPR at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCA) in 1987.

He is a diplomat of the National Dental Board Anesthesiology. He is a fellow of the American Association of Hospital Dentists. He has a certification from the TSBDE in level 3 moderate sedation. He has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of General Practice at UTHSCSA.

During his residency, he received training in dental and implant surgery as well as sedation procedures. He entered private practice in 1987, practicing a full scope of dental procedures. In 1996, he limited his practice to primarily exodontia and parenteral moderate sedation.

During his career, he has worked in over 400 dental offices and has extracted approximately 150,000 teeth while moderately sedated over 30,000 patients. These past experiences bring a unique, real world general dental perspective in knowing the challenges general dentists face in offering these types of surgical treatments to their patients.

Dr. Roberts is a passionate advocate in the dental profession, having served in various capacities in dental organizations. The various dental organizations include the following, President of the North Texas Dental Association and Secretary/Treasurer of the Dallas County Dental Society, where he was awarded Young Dentist Of the Year in 1990. He has been nominated three times as Texas Dentist of the Year by the Texas Academy of General Dentistry in 2004, 2009 and 2017.

Dr. Roberts’ courses bring simplified, safe, predictable and practical dental surgical principles to his presentations in a passionate and entertaining fashion. The focus of his courses are on case selection, instrumentation, sedation and anesthesia avoidance of complications with a special emphasis of the importance of quality post operative instructions.
