Third Molar Impaction Surgery for Rural and Public Health Dentists.
Attention Rural and Public Health Dentists
You need to be able to provide a wider scope of services for your patients. KCSI’s Impacted Third Molar Course will equip you with the instruction and hands-on experience you need to meet the oral health and comfort needs of your patients.
Public health dentistry is about preventing and alleviating disease and pain. Third molars are a prime cause, such as with pericoronitis. Many patients, especially in rural areas, struggle getting treatment for these situations.
KCSI’s Impacted Third Molar Surgery course teaches the mandatory essential elements of third molar surgery. The course consists of two evening webinars, followed by a Saturday full day of hands-on instruction using lifelike models. Evening and weekend instruction makes this course ideal for minimizing time away from the office. The next course starts on February 22, 2023.
The course covers:
- anatomy
- Case selection (avoiding ‘red flags’)
- Safe & adequate flaps
- cutting bone and tooth
- Complication prevention & management
- Post-op care
Get them numb and get it done (in a predictable timeframe). This course is more about equipping dentists to treat 1-2 symptomatic teeth than all four with IV sedation. It’s about providing availability of quality care to an underserved population. This training takes time and focus. Learn what to do and how to do it, along with what not to do. Hands-on model surgery includes seven impactions on three life-like models. The Saturday itinerary includes a live treatment demonstration with close-up views (in-house streaming). Additional mentoring available. You should already be good at surgical extractions to participate in this course. If you don’t feel ready, then take Continuum 1 first. Instructor: Dr. Dave Roberts.
