Hopefully, what we got in school was comprehensive – with the anatomy, principles, and clinical methodology. But if we need more training, coursework is available for the didactics and clinical performance after graduation.

 

If not in GPRs or AEGDs, then from centers for surgical instruction. 

Didactic teaching is one thing but the clinical side requires hands-on. 

 

Patient treatment is always the best way to learn but performing actual oral surgery procedures on life-like models can prime us with every movement, every action, and the order and sequence of how things are done – thus making an anticipated surgery smoother, faster, safer and more effective.

 

Attached are pictures of models currently used to help general dentists take their expertise to the next level (Continuum 1). 

Followed by three days of mentored patient treatment shown in the clinical picture (Continuum 3).
